As the yearly Tokyo Game show draws closer, more and more companies are announcing which titles they will be showcasing at the event. The latest RPGs revealed for the show come from Atlus, who recently promised fans a chance to see how the company has progressed on their port of the classic Shin Megami Tensei Super Famicom title, as well as Eithˇa, released in Japan just last month. As well, Konami's forthcoming spinoff RPG, Suikogaiden Volume 2, will be making an appearance, along with their upcoming manga-based title, Get Backers.
Attendants of the Japanese game expo won't just be wandering around through endless rows of displays, however. For the first time, a number of specially scheduled events will be taking place in the Makuhari Messe event hall along with the show. Possibly the most significant of these will a large-scale competition of Enix's upcoming GameBoy Color title, Dragon Quest Monsters II. The game, which has garnered immense anticipation according to recent preorder reports, will have been released in Japan just prior to the show. Enix will be hosting the tournament themselves, and has scheduled three 90 minute rounds between March 30th and April 1st. Entitled Dragon Quest Monsters 2 "The Coliseum of Flames," the event is sure to attract fans of the series. A full schedule of the tournament times, as well as a listing of other game show events, is available here courtesy of US Famitsu. If you happen to be in Tokyo at the end of the month, it will certainly be a sight to behold.
