North American videogame fans are often left without a chance to see the unique Japanese commercials for their favorite games. The Legend of Zelda: The Mystical Seed commercial, which began airing in Japan today, is one such commercial. Shot on January 30, the advertisement features a live-action puppet play based on the events in the two chapters of the game: the Chapter of Earth and the Chapter of Time and Space.

The puppet masters rehearsed while the massive set was built in the filming studio so that the puppet Link would move as realistically as possible. Though the set was not the largest the staff had constructed, it was certainly impressive. The movements of Puppet Link were reportedly incredibly life-like as well. Both chapters of The Legend of Zelda: The Mystical Seed are geared for a simultaneous release in Japan on February 27.
