Welcome to round 1 of the Splendid Performance competition. Audition Round 1: On the Keys.
In this round the theme was to use the piano (or similiar instrument; such as organ, harpsichord, keyboard) as the focus of the remix. Using a piano as a solo instrument for the mix, or using multiple pianos, or even a piano with accompanying instruments are all ways to correctly adhere to this round's theme.
And the results are in! Coming in the number one spot, in a very close win, is Mark Dillon, better known here as Disturbed with his piece Before the Mirror. In a very close second, is Jormungand with his Dark Star Scherzo. Following in for third, with all the entries hot on his tail is Christian Pacaud with his Child of the Murder God. I must say, the entries here were amazing, every last one. I look forward to more entries from these and other submitters in the upcoming rounds, as well as seeing the top 3 return for the final round in September.
Before I go, let me extend a thank you to my co-staffer Carlisle, master of currents and a musician extraordinaire, for stepping in to be the third judge.
Please note the judges comments are coming soon. Just need some extra time to compile them and proof read. Thank you for your patience.
