This guide will not be updated and no questions will be answered on it. It was simply something I tossed together while I was bored. What you will find in this FAQ: 1. In depth look at each of the 6 major characters 2. Advice for changing their classes 3. Srengths and Weaknesses What you won't find: 1. Spell, Equipment and Ability charts 2. Gameplay Questions With that in mind here are each of the characters. Each character is rated from 1-5..with 1 being the worst and 5 being the best. Duran Rating 3 Weapon: Sword Speical Powers: Can use a Sheild(Raises Evade)(Light Classes Only) Duran is the Ryu/Erdrick/Balenced guy of SD3. He has REALLY high strength(The highest in the game) but his Agility is REALLY low. If your doing a magic based group definetly get him...His high strength and Defense will allow him to soak up the damage while the other 2 blast everyone away with their spells. Durans main weakness is the slowness of his attack...He swings once, gives a couple of puffs and then is ready to swing again. Well..not really. He attacks as fast as anyone else, although the swing itself is abit slow^_~. While that 1 swing is quite powerful it's so slow it's hard to use him effectively. Durans main strength lies in his High Constitution and Defense...use him for soaking up damage while your less hardier characters cast spells. Duran is a split for class change as all both the Light and Dark Paths hold advantages. If you take him L/L then you will get a Sheild, Saint Saber and Heal Light. If you take him D/L(I think^_^) You'll get all of the sabers except for Dark and Saint Saber. This is actually a HUGE advantage...Because he can use both Leaf and Moon sabers you won't have to worry about carrying around many healing items. Think twice about his Dark classes though..the other elemental sabers are of limited usefullness and you'll be very close to the end of the game by the time you get the Moon/Leaf Saber. Riese Rating 4 Weapon: Spears/Lances Speical Powers: Summoning Magic at highest class Riese is Duran on speed. Her stats are completly averaged out so she dosen't have any Major weaknesses. She, like Duran, only swings once during an attack but this is balenced out by her Speed. She gets the Stat changing magic...Stat down for the enemy on the dark path, Stat up on the light path. Rieses weakness is that she dosen't have any major strengths...She's completly average. This is also her major advantage...You can feel comfortable taking her into any situation and not having her suffer in any Area. Rieses best class is the L/D class...This gives you Stat boosting magic that effects all the party as well as the Summon Spell Marduk..which IMHO is the best spell in the game(High Damage plus Silence). Her other classes are also worthwhile, but the summons they give are of limited usefullness. Also..keep in mind that the Secondary Effects of Rieses' summon magic dosen't effect bosses. Kevin Rating: 5 Weapon: Claws/Gloves Speical Power: Hits Twice, Wolf at Night Kevin is good for only one thing...Pounding enemys into something that dosen't remotely resemble anything threatning. He has only 3 or 4 diffrent spells, But those 4 are quite good. Kevins advantage is his high Speed, Constituion(Higher then Durans!^_^) and Strength. His weakness is his low Magic Defense. Kevins best class is definetly L/D...As this gives you a Party Heal Light, His powerup spell(Which gives him the attack power of his wolf form during the Day) and Leaf Saber. If your feeling particulary Violent However, go D/D. Kevins Attack Power(In his Wolf Form) will the highest in the game. Also to be noted: The Spell Kevin gains in his Light Classes, Pressure Point(I think) gives him the Attack power of his Wolf Form DURING THE DAY. VERY Useful!^_~ Hawkeye Rating: 4.5 Speical Power: Hits Twice, Large array of Special powers, Only person to use Dyrad/Luna magic(Exception: Sabers) Imagine Kevin with more Speed, Less Strength and ALOT more skills and you have Hawkeye. Hawkeye is both at home in combat and blasting the oppositon with spells. ALL of his classes have their advantages and he has the biggest skill list of all the characters. Hawkeye's weakness is his realitive fragility...he takes alot of damage in Melee combat. His strength is his Dexterity...Even with lower attack power then Kevin his can do as much damage due to his Multiple hits. It's really up to you which class to make Hawkeye as ALL of them are useful..But I prefeir The L/L class as it gives you almost all the Moon and Leaf spells. The D/D Class, Nightblade, is also extremly deadly, as he gets some Wickedly Effective Spells that can even effect the bosses, and Ninjutsu Magic acts like Rieses Stat Down spells, in addition to inflicting Elemental Damage! Angela Rating: 2.5 Speical Power: Gets attack magic before class change Angela is all about attack magic. Light, Dark, Wind, Fire...you name an Element she has a spell for it. This makes her Invaluable during boss fights. Unfortuently you probibly won't be using much magic against regualr enemys so this limits her usefulness. If you don't mind contiually recasting the same spell she works great. Angelas weakness is her Attack Strength...She has the lowest in the game. Guess her stick dosen't whap the bad guys as much as I thought it would^_^. Her strength is her IMMENSLY HIGH MAGIC ATTACK!! I've seen her do as much as 999 damage on one of the Mana Monsters...Just slam it with the right element and watch the fire works!^_^ Angelas best class is D/L as it gives her the Level 3 Attack spells as well as the Devastating Death Spell, which if her level is high enough will KILL any monster..'Cept Level 99 ones^_~ Charlotte(Carlie) Rating: 5 if you don't take Kevin or Duran as a character, 1 if you do Speical Power: Healing Magic after the first boss Charlotte is one of those people you either HAVE to use or you want to avoid like the Plague. If you don't take Kevin or, to a lesser extent, Duran as character you better take her...You NEED her group healing spell. If you did take Kevin or Duran AVOID HER LIKE THE PLAGUE!! Charlottes advantage is her heal magic...Besides Kevin and Duran she's the only one who gets a group heal spell. She also gets Saber Magic and either Holy Attack magic or Dark attack magic...It depends on which path you take. If she takes the Dark Path she also gets some nice summon attacks. Her disadvantge is...SHE IS ABOSOLUTLY USELESS AT ATTACKING! Even with the Dark Summon Spells she does so little damage she's more of liability. Thats why you don't want her if you have Kevin or Duran...They also get a group healing spell but they can cause mass bodily harm as well. Her best class is D/L...it gives you a group healing spell...Dark Attack magic and some nice summon spells. If you take her Dark, the (Name Escapes me at the moment) is the better one, as Black Curse is an AWESOME Spell. Carlie's Dark classes are definetly better then her Light Ones. All that said here are some Combinations to try out. Hawkeye, Riese, Kevin: Easiest group to complete the game with...Although some of the bosses may give you trouble. Duran, Angela, Charlotte: Surprisengly effective...But battles take forever. Kevin, Angela, Riese Fell like being a Bad-Ass? This group speicalizes in making the enemy look like Toddlers. Charlotte, Angela, Riese For those of you who like a challenge...^_^ Duran, Hawkeye, Kevin: The 3 Horseman minus 1 of the Apocalypse.
