Parasite Eve - Video Sequences v1.0 By: Joshua McMillin WARNING! POSSIBLE SPOILERS DOWN BELOW! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I know that a lot of you wish the companies would program codes or options into their games so we could watch all the video sequences or listen to the music and sound effects. Unfortunately, VERY few companies do this, especially with the video sequences. One thing we CAN do, though, is tape them. The only bad thing is that some games have alternate paths or optional sidequests with different movies, or they have so many, it's hard to keep track of them. Well, I decided to provide a service for you all and record the occasions within Square's game, Parasite Eve, where the movies occur. I have tried to give you a good idea of exactly when and where they occur. The good thing about this game is that there is a blank screen for a brief time before and after the movies, which makes taping them MUCH easier. It also allows a little leeway if you mess up or want to tape every second of every movie (like me :) ). For your convenience, I have divided the movies according to day. I have also included two 'optional' movies designated by ***. I would also recommend that you play through and beat the game once before taping these just so you have a better idea of when to start and stop the tape. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Pre-Game: ________ 1. Demo Sequence (the video sequence that plays before the Start/Title Screen) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Day 1: _____ 2. Beginning (after you select to start a new game) 3. Melissa Begins Singing (Melissa begins singing on stage and a few moments later, the screen blanks and the movie begins) 4. Walk Down Hall - Rat Transformation (begins almost right after Aya enters the far hall at Carnegie; you here a scurrying noise and she turns around) 5. Melissa Playing Piano - Eve Reveals Herself (Eve and Aya finish their dialogue and the screen blanks) 6. Sewer - Eve & Crocodile (Eve finishes talking about how Aya's mitochondria is going to awaken soon and 'remembers'; screen blanks and movie begins) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Day 2: _____ 7. Headed To Central Park (leave police station after Eve attacks it and select Central Park; movie begins) 8. Central Park Stage (Eve finishes speech) 9. Central Park - Carriage Ride #1 (movie begins after you walk up to carriage and get on) 10. Central Park - Carriage Ride #2 (movie begins after battle with Eve) 11. Evacuation Of Manhattan (movie begins after Ben meets dog) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Day 3: _____ 12. Aya's 1st Look Through Microscope 13. Jet Crashes Into Roof (movie begins after Aya runs to upper left of ceiling and jumps over edge to safety) *** Jet Crashes Into Roof But Aya Doesn't Make It (you take too long and Aya doesn't make it to edge of roof in time; in other words, she dies) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Day 5: _____ 18. Slime Drips Down (in main sewer area with big pipes and pool underneath) 19. Slime Pumped Out (Aya activates the pumps) 20. T-Rex Comes To Life (alarms have just been deactivated) 21. Pregnant Eve (Aya arrives on top floor of museum and walks up to Eve) 23. Pregnant Eve #2 & Slime 'Monster' Comes To Life (after brief dialogue sequence) NOTE: On movies 24-34, the breaks in between the movies are moderate in length to very, very short. As a result, I didn't bother with writing down the details like I did with the first 23. Make your best judgments on them and be ready to hit record or to unpause your VCR on a moments notice. In fact, if you don't mind the in-between stuff, you might want to start recording on movie #24 and leave it on all the way to #34 and THEN stop it or pause it. 24. Jet Attack 25. Jet Attack #2 26. Jet Attack #3 27. Turning On Helicoptor 28. Helicoptors Take Off 29. Helicoptors Fly 30. Helicoptors Fly #2 31. Helicoptors Fly #3 32. Helicoptors Fly #4 33. Aya Fires Weapon 34. Aya Flies Helicoptor 35. Aya Jumps From Helicoptor (after saving game on Navy ship) 36. Eve 'Melts' (after final battle with Eve on Liberty Island (that's the island where the Statue of Liberty sits, for those who didn't know)) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Day 6: _____ 37. Cleanup Search Around Liberty Island (begins first thing as day begins) 38. Ultimate Being Born (after dialogue w/ Navy guys and the ship begins to shake) 39. Ultimate Being Boards Ship (after dialogue with Maeda and Daniel) 40. Daniel Throws Bullets To Aya (after dialogue on helicoptor between Maeda and Daniel) 41. Ultimate Being 'Dies' (after last bullet w/Aya's DNA is fired) 42. Ultimate Being Defeated (after Aya sets the ships boiler to critcal and escapes ship (runs off screen without a door (you'll recognize what I mean))) 43. Sun Comes Up (after fairly lengthy dialogue) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- End: ___ 44. Opera (after new lead singer begins to sing) 45. Credits (you may not consider the credits to be a movie, but I do) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- EX Mode: __________ *** Credits #2 (special 'true' ending after you beat Eve/Maya at the top of the Chrysler building) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Hope this has been helpful! I believe I've taken care of and written down all the video sequences, but in case I haven't, please E-mail me at Muir_Island@yahoo.com so I can make a revision on this list. Also, I eventually intend to do this same thing for Final Fantasy VII, but it will take awhile because of all the sidequests, optional paths, and obscure movies. 1998 Joshua McMillin
