Shiny yellow birds!

The graphics look amazing on the DS. I started off in a cave, walking around using the stylus for movement. I found it was easier to use the stylus on the map because you can run, but it was nearly useless in battle. You can pick characters and actions with it, but I found I preferred spamming the A button. Menus could go either way. It sounds convenient to pick items with the stylus, but I think I will probably continue to use the controller.
A fairy had better not pop out...

For most of the game, the top screen is not used, but if you switch to the menu, the map screen slides up to the top screen.
The music sounded really good. Aside from vastly improving the quality, all the music is the same as it is in the NES version. The victory fanfare was especially nice.
