With the glut of other highly important information flying around the Square
Enix press conference, it might have been easy to miss the inclusion of an
announcement about an already playable game in development for Nintendo's DS
handheld console, which is also debuting at E3 this year. The handheld
itself features two LCD screens, one of which acts like a PDA stylus
interactive menu, more processing capability than the Nintendo 64 home
console, and - perhaps most importantly - backwards compatibility to every
earlier generation of handheld the company has created.
Although virtually no details were announced as to the nature of the new
game, a hands-on demo has been promised for the show floor. Look for more
information and impressions about the game - and Nintendo's Dual-Screen
handheld - starting tomorrow morning.
