Phantasy Star Online Version 2 Announced for Gamecube
Alongside the myriad surprises and announcements made by Nintendo at their pre-E3 press conference, which included the premier of their next-generation GameCube console and a showcase of its feature titles, was a thorough release list of upcoming games for all of the company's current systems. While many of these listed titles were simply confirmation of old news, one in particular stands out as a significant disclosure: Phantasy Star Online Version 2 listed as a GameCube title.
Little information is listed regarding Sega's very first Nintendo RPG. The game is expected to carry an ESRB rating of "T" for teen, and is planned to release sometime in 2002, following the GameCube's launch on November fifth. Also of note on the release list is not only Breath of Fire, but also Breath of Fire 2 for the GameBoy Advance. No release date is mentioned, but its not unreasonable to expect the game to be another direct port of Capcom's Super Nintendo RPG title. We'll continue to bring you more information on these titles as it becomes available.
