Movies April 3, 2005

Googleshng - 4:00 EST

I went and saw me a couple of much-hyped movies this weekend. Highlights included Patrick Stewart as a crazy old man, and Charlie Brown as a uh... well, I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

And now a word from our sponsors.

Google mentioned this the other day, and I thought I might enlighten anyone reading Q&A about the subject:

"...until such time as someone gets around to setting up an IMDB sort of database detailing the complete work history of everyone involved in the videogame industry. Seriously, what the heck is the hold up on that?"

The reason that RPGuides has been taken down for such an extended period of time (lack of submissions not withstanding) is because we're designing exactly such a thing to compliment it, in addition to creating templates for character profiles, plot summaries, and other kinds of general information that don't involve people writing and submitting FAQs and Walkthroughs, since it's kinda silly for anyone to compete with GameFAQs and all.

True enough, but unless I missed a meeting, that doesn't really help if I want to look into the career history of, say, the dev team for Megaman 3. Spiffy otherwise though.

Vagueries

hello ,

how to get a rod?

from who actually

and whenand where will he appear

thankz

Googleshng

Well, first it would help if I knew which of the many Harvest Moon games it was you where asking about, and then you'd still be better off just looking this up in a walkthrough.

Fallout

You shibbies (<-- insert bad word here) are messing with fire and opening a whole world of hate up for yourselves by bringing up ff and chrono trigger games for this year's april fools jokes. Why must you toy with us so?

Rhetoricals don't really count. Anyway though, there's not much point in yelling at me about it if you aren't a fan of the fake news stories that go up on April 1st. I've never been a fan of the tradition either (mainly because it's the same day every year, making it totally predictable, and leading to it just being a day when you don't believe anything you hear is true), but, well, I'm not a complaint department. So I suppose your best options would be to either chew out people through the proper channels, or just do what everyone else does, lighten up and not believe anything you hear on April 1st until people reveal their pranks on April 2nd.

Fallout 2

OK, about that article courtney wrote abote Square Enix, is that just a mean April Fools joke? And what about FF7 DS?

Googleshng

I wouldn't really classify an April Fools' joke as "mean" if it has no effect whatsoever outside the usual making people feel stupid if they fall for it, but otherwise, yes and yes. as explained here. That seems to be missing a couple things though, like the following.

Fallout 2

hey Goog. or Andrew. whoever's up on Q&A duty. do you think you could pass this on to Steve the Monkey? His email address doesn't seem to be working for some reason.

Thanks,
Jackson

Googleshng

I would, if such a person actually existed and wasn't some obscure in-joke of a few people on staff. As is, it's rather difficult.

Whee, watch these not sell! Shaman King Vol. 1 and Shaman King Vol. 2. Here's hoping I have better luck with the next batch. Anyway though, can we move past the silly pranks and get back to a column of questions on RPGs now?
