ANDREW LONG
RESOURCE MANAGER

RPGamer

Throughout RPGamer's 7-year history, the Q&A section has had a unique role; rather than the format of letters sections at most websites, which serve a largely informative role, RPGamer's Q&A has striven to be that and more, creating a daily conversation between readers and the site that has helped to create the sense of community that RPGamer strives for.

Q&A Columnist

Now, RPGamer is looking to fill this position, and for the first time in nearly three years, we are doing so through a public hiring. The ideal applicant has a good working knowledge of the gaming world, and should have completed a fair number of games, especially those in popular series, to prepare for the questions that will come in. He or she will also be a good communicator, able to clearly express themselves by the written word and with an active interest in corresponding with dozens of our readers each week. Some HTML knowledge is required, but this is not a necessity; training will be provided if this is an issue. Finally, a sense of humour is an absolute must.

There are many benefits to being a Q&A host. In addition to having the potential to be a leading voice among RPGamer's various columnists, the prospective Q&A host will receive an @rpgamer email address and a respected position on RPGamer's hardworking team (please note that all positions at RPGamer are on a strictly volunteer basis). If you are interested in this position, please email the following to castomel@rpgamer.com, with the subject "RPGamer Q&A Application":

  • The attached application, completed, which can be found here, as well as a resume.
  • A completed column using the standard RPGamer layout (with minor modifications to suit your personality if you so choose), using any combination of five of the letters found in the columns from July 27th, July 19th, July 15th, or July 11th.

If you have any questions or concerns about applying for this position, please use this link to address them.

This position is unpaid at this time. You must be at least 16 years of age, by law, to work for RPGamer. The deadline for all applications will be August 12th, 2005. If you have any questions, please use the message board link provided below to voice your concerns; a staff member in charge of hiring will be happy to deal with your concern there, or through subsequent email communication. Thank you for your interest in RPGamer, and I hope to be seeing you soon!
